Sonic Sensors can evaluate piece parts in-house or set-up a system at your facility to perform the inspection. Automated inspections are greatly simplified with an EMAT because the non-contact nature makes positioning easy.
Scanning over large complex surfaces is easy and therefore INEXPENSIVE
Challenging Environments are easy such as:
• High Temperature
• In a vacuum
• Dry couplant free
Often times an existing technique has deficiencies which can be eliminated by an EMAT solution. The EMAT has many more acoustic modes available than conventional piezo-electric transducers. An ultrasonic inspection can be simplified with special acoustic modes and thus greatly simplifying an inspection. For example an advanced EMAT Guided Wave solution could detect MIC defects which were too small for conventional piezo techniques could not detect.
