Small diameter tar coated pipes may also be inspected with a Tethered tool. Shown here is a tool for pitting, general corrosion and cracking.

GUided waves inspect the entire area between the tracks at scanning speeds of 1 foot per second. Welds and the Heat Affected Zone, can all be inspected at high speed. Including two different thickness plates welded together.
